Youth Against Settlements Statement of Solidarity with Palestinian Prisoners on Hunger Strike

Youth Against Settlements stands in solidarity with the over 1,500 Palestinian prisoners now on hunger strike. Their demands for family visits, quality medical care and ending inhumane conditions, such as solitary confinement, administrative detention, child imprisonment, and imprisonment without charge or trial, are part of our larger struggle for freedom and dignity. We support the men, women and children participating in the hunger strike and see them as leaders in our movement. Hunger strikes are part of a long and rich Palestinian and international tradition of nonviolent resistance. By striking, these prisoners are expressing our refusal to cooperate with our oppressors. Together we are one voice for justice, freedom, dignity and equality.
