Kahanism resurges in Hebron during Jewish holiday of Chayei Sara

Today Israeli settlers in Hebron have put up posters on closed Palestinian shops on Shuhada Street saying “Kahane was right and should be believed.” Meir Kahane, founder of the Kach party in Israel and the Jewish Defense League in America, believed Palestinians should be given no rights and expelled entirely and Israel should become a theocratic state under Halakah (Jewish religious law). Kahane’s party was banned from Israel for being “racist” and “undemocratic.” The Jewish Defense League is classified by the US State Department as a foreign terrorist organization. The promotion of Kahanism by Hebron settlers today is occurring during the Jewish holiday of Chayei Sara and in the context of a resurgence of the Jewish Defence League in America since the election of Donald Trump.
